Stanford Health Care and Stanford Children’s Health today jointly launched a new online second opinion program to help patients make more-informed decisions about their health and treatment plans. The program offers easy access to world-class Stanford specialists to those who have received a diagnosis or recommendation for treatment and want another opinion.

Getting a second opinion from Stanford is easy, convenient, and done remotely. Patients don’t have to visit our hospitals or clinics for this service. Instead, patients may create an account from the Stanford Medicine Online Second Opinion Offering website and provide a summary of their conditions and initial diagnosis. All relevant medical records will then be collected on behalf of the patient, if the records are in the U.S. An expert from Stanford will review the medical information and send a written second opinion, usually within two weeks.
